rattling water pipes

I am out of town and my tenant is reporting a dramatic shuddering sound when the toilet tank refills after flushing. I suspected that there might be air in the supply lines and asked him to run all the available faucets in the apartment for 5 minutes or so. This is the first time this issue has occurred since a total gut reno with new waste and supply lines throughout. Any theories or solutions for me beyond calling in a plumber. Also any plumber recs for small issues( I hope) such as this?
