Inflatable Pool in Basement
My kid inquired the feasibility of putting inflatable pool in basement room. Does DOB has any say on this or it is Ok as long as we do not flood neighbors. I am not planning to do it. Just a curious question.

They leak, and if one is planning to keep a small body of water in a damp part of their house there will be a bug infestation.
Is that why the head of the parks department is Ben o Pee?
BTW getting the water out is the only issue. No permit is required. You will pay for the water and 250% for the sewer by water volume no matter what you do…
For g**’s sake, keep those creepy DOB inspectors away from your children!
LOL. i had an inflatable pool in my living room in college. you empty and fill it with big pots of water. as long as it’s a group effor it doesnt take too long. i had problems with people peeing in it tho and that’s just gross for a small unchlorinated pool cuz it’s pretty obvious when someone just peed in it. i think they sell small kits of chlorine tho for small kiddie pools if you plan on peeing in it.
*rob*
And how would you propose to empty it? To deal with the inevitable splashes and spills onto the floor?
If you’ve got a basement, you must have a yard of some kind. Put it in the yard.
“I am not planning to do it.”
Yeah. Uh huh.
Bunch o’ smart alecks!
City regulations stipulate that it must be clorinated; also chemical additive to detect urination in the pool. The Parks Department does weekly testing.
according to new city policy, the mayor has to sign off personally. i’ve heard he doesn’t know how to swim and requires all such installations to have knee-high water. on the day of the mayoral test that means about six inches.
