I have a cedar fence in my back yard that a previous owner painted with a latex paint. I want to strip the paint off but am unsure whether to sand it off or to use some sort of paint striper. Any suggestions?

  1. I’m curious what your plans are once you get the paint off. Do you need to treat the cedar with a sealant or something? Wondering what your plans are as we’re considering putting up some cedar outside too.

  2. It will often come right off with a strong pressure washer (gas driven). Normally when pressure washing you don’t want that, and you have to back off and use a wider nozzle.

You may want to rent a strong one, I’m sure there plenty else you can clean (masonry etc) that will make it worthwile, even if the paint doesn’t fly off.
