Eames Chair Repair
I have an original Eames chair. 30 years of wear and tear and the back has finally detached from the base of the chair. A rubber disc was bonded to the wood (rosewood?) with nothing but dowels and glue. I’ve tried several glues and an epoxy to reattach it, but nothing will stick. Anyone know…

Anyone know what glue or epoxy I should use to make it work?

I would suggest the high bond aliphatic glue from Garrett Wade:

I have been a furniture restorer for many year, and this glue is so dependable. I would avoid epoxies. It is irreversible, and will lower the value of the chair.

I had the same problem and couldn’t find anything that would hold. Ultimately I took my chair to the experts:
