Drill Baby Drill?
I was hanging some curtain rods today and all was well until I got to the last bracket. I ran into a metal beam! Rather than drilling news holes, I was contemplating drilling into the beam. It’s just two small screws going there. Is this okay or a definite no-no. I doubt two small holes…

Is this okay or a definite no-no. I doubt two small holes would compromise the strength of a metal beam. Hopefully someone more experienced could offer some advice.
Thanks a lot.
It sounds like you are hitting the metal stud if you are drilling into the wall beside the window. You need a drill driver to punch the screw into the stud or a drill with a small
bit to make a little pilot hole for the screw. If you have trouble doing it text me at 646
8316481, or email me at piersol33@gmail.com. there is a recommendation about me lower on the handyman forum page. Brian
Very common. I doubt there are any pipes or electrical where the seams are. I think Bond is right. Drill it! I always have with the same issue and have never had a problem.
It sounds like you ran into the lintel over the window, and no, two small holes shouldn’t compromise the integrity of the beam.
