1) My basement is below garden level. Is it better and easier to install the w/d hookup in kitchen and vent it through bathroom to backyard (requires hole in wall) or to put it in basement and vent from there (also requires hole in wall)? I never knew it was so complicated to install a hook up for w/d!!
Question #2: If I do put it in kitchen would it be recommended to box in the vent pipe on bathroom ceiling or to put in a drop ceiling? Thank you.
All things being equal, you have better access in the kitchen but it may look obtrusive.
And you’ll get the standard warnings here about being x feet away from everything if you want to do it to code, which is apparently impossible.
Q2 is aesthetic; a dropped ceiling would be more expensive.
