Quick question for readers. We are fast approaching demolition on our renovation. We have several items that could be salvage – such as pocket doors, clawfoot tubs, famhouse sinks etc. Other than posting topics on this site and craigslist are there any other options ?
Not clear to me if local salvage places will come to you and remove or you need to go to them ? Potentially a combination of both I would think. Any advice greatly appreciated.

  1. Call a salvage place and they will come to you and remove everything.

We are also looking for pocket doors. We’re looking for doors that are 60 inches high, hopefully four-panel doors (or one glass with two panels).

    We’re also looking for a 16 x 19 inch wall-hung porcelain bathroom sink.

    And a 1930s farmhouse sink.

  2. I used to take that stuff, but I no longer have space. The salvage places will come to you. You won’t get much (if anything) to have them haul it away. You can try Eddie Hibbert, Build it Green and Olde Good Things.

On the other hand, you could do an “open house” if you want to sell the stuff to the public without setting up a ton of appointments. Just make it kind of a tag sale for salvage.
