After numerous attempts to locate an appropriate replacement fixture for our antique wall-mounted sink, I turn to the fine folks of Brownstoner for some sage advice and retail recommendations. For some reason, I cannot locate a fixture that will accommodate ‘three’ openings on the inner face of our sink (see photo). Several fixtures can be found to fit sinks with ‘two’ openings on the inner face, one for the hot and one for the cold water knobs. But, for some reason, finding a fixture for a sink with ‘three’ openings is like searching for a ghost. Please advise if you can help me with our paranormal sink related search. Thanks in advance.

  1. I completely relied on George Taylor plumbing in Tribeca when I was doing my reno. Family-owned, super nice people, very knowledgeable and when I found a cheaper price online, they matched it. Here is their information:
George Taylor Specialties Inc 76 Franklin Street, New York, NY 10013-3444(212) 226-5369‎

The style you are looking for is described as “widespread”. Also check out faucet.com, all manufacturers, many styles including 3-piece widespread.

  2. I bought one online from Renovator’s Supply about five years ago. They no longer show them on their website, but you might try them anyway.

  3. Try J Chimerine Plumbing Heating 782 Dekalb Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11221-1497 (on DeKalb between Thompkins and Throop.)

    They have been there forever.

There is another plumbing supply place where Park Ave. Lumber used to be called Kevin Richard Plumbing 525 Park Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205-1632 (Park Ave. somewhere along between Bedford and Nostrand)

Either of these places is a good candidate because they have been in business for ages, and who knows what they have buried in there. At Chimerine, we recently found legs for a sink which had been installed in 1949. Kevin Richard is open 24/7 btw.

  4. The hardware store across from Key Food on 5th Av. in Park Slope might have what you need. Don’t recall the name but it has an incredible stock of old stuff for both plumbing & electric.
