Rat Trap at Open House
I just have to post this story. Today we went to an open house for a new brownstone to condo conversion. Not quite complete. The finishes seemed nice and we liked the layout. Then we went down to the lower floor of the duplex and there in the corner was this huge rat trap set…
I just have to post this story. Today we went to an open house for a new brownstone to condo conversion. Not quite complete. The finishes seemed nice and we liked the layout. Then we went down to the lower floor of the duplex and there in the corner was this huge rat trap set with peanut butter in front of a hole in the wall.
I’m used to rat traps but it was the first time I had seen one inside an apartment at an open house. Is it just the reality of construction or lackadaisical open house prep? I am pretty hardened to the NYC rodent experience but it really nixed the place for us.
Perhaps they shouldn’t leave holes open in new construction! Just an idea.
Ridiculously sloppy of the broker. Howveer I have heard that all major construction projects disrupt rodents from their normally well-hidden homes. We have friends in the South Slope who were plagued by rats in their front and back yards while a small condo was being built 1/2 a block from them. So horrible, yes, but perhaps not very unusual. And the rat population of NYC is probably greater than the biped population.
Pretty full disclosure if you ask me!!!
Run! How completely appalling.
Wow. Just wow.
Unless, maybe it’s 20% undervalued?
