Anyone else notice the R train in Brooklyn Really Really sucks since they took the M out of service? Last 3 days I had to wait at least 10-15 Min at Atlantic just to force my way onto a crowded train, and then force my way back out with 10,000 other people when they decide to run it express since it is so overcrowded and delayed.

The wait in the morning seems to also have increased significantly.

Just venting I guess…

  1. Ever since the M stopped, I have noticed that both local (R) and express trains (N,D) have been waiting in stations a lot for connecting trains. They never really used to do that. It has added a solid 15 minutes to the commute. bummah!

  2. My husband is really getting pissed!!! He said that the subway this week has been from hell no matter which variation of trains he takes. (He has a few options.) So its not just the R. ARRRRR!

  3. i did the first day, but that was supposedly due to the fire on broadway layfayette in manhattan… yesterday commute to (soho) and from (union street bkln) seen somewhat normal (ie not very crowded on train as i was able to get a seat, as well as this morning..) but there were definitely delays, like they wait longer at certain stops, canal, etc.. and longer times between delays. i love how they started this in the summer :-/ just wait until the fall you’re really gonna feel these cutbacks.

    *rob*

  4. Big delays on the Q/B lines also this week. I can’t tell how much this is teething problems because of the changes in service and how much this will be a permanent new reality. Hoping it’s the former!

  5. The F was a mess yesterday because of that track fire. I was stuck at 2nd avenue for a while until I eventually gave up and walked over to bleeker street to catch the 6.

This morning though the F was okay. Now that the W is gone, does the R even share the same track with any other trains in Brooklyn or Manhattan anymore?
