We’re looking for recs for someone who could build a small play structure/fort type thing for our kids in our backyard. Nothing fancy, but we want custom built to have more control over size and shape.

Thanks!

  1. I would love to discuss your project. I have worked as a woodworker for international artists, residential, and commercial clients. I am graduate of the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Pt. Townsend, WA, and the Wooden Boat Foundation in Brookline, Me. I work with clients very closely in the design phase to approximate best what it is they imagine. In this case, the clients sound like kids. I’m a father of two, and I found what my children imagine is not only specific, but surprisingly steeped in intuitive, rational design. People are natural builders. Your project sounds fun. All the best, C.J.

  2. Hello! I would love to build your play structure. I am a carpenter who just moved to Brooklyn from San Francisco where I was working for Barbara Butler (barbarabutler.com) for the last two years. I probably built about 100 play structures and treehouses while I worked for her. We actually just did a treehouse in the Hamptons last week too! There are pictures of the Hamptons Treehouse here – http://barbarabutler.blogspot.com/ – scroll all the way to the bottom.

I can give you plenty of references if you need them. I look forward to hearing from you!
