Looking for suggestions on ironworkers/stair people to talk to to get something like the picture made. Looking for a simple modern stairway to put into our townhouse and trying to get an idea of pricing for it. Just want Iron Stringers with wood treads on top. Looking for suggestions on ironworkers/stair people to talk to to get something like the picture made. Looking for a simple modern stairway to put into our townhouse and trying to get an idea of pricing for it. Just want Iron Stringers with wood treads on top.
Figured I would call Soxco, but I don’t know if they do this style. Any other thoughts? Even any general ideas on a rough cost by level would be great.
you can get the metal frame from ironshop.com, and your GC can install. Think they also sell the wooden treads but would suggest taking some of the money you save from going with a custom metal work job and finding a local carpenter to make treads out of jatoba or something similar.
First, not sure if they are permitted any more by code. Look into that if you are pulling permits.
I did similar but not identical stairs and a great ironworker/artist did mine…
