We had our bay window restuccoed last month: our guy stripped it down to the frame and built it back up. It looks great, except he apparently used tar around the flashing he installed around the roof line, and now it is dripping onto our deck below in the hot weather.

a) How do we stop this dripping?
b) what is the best way to clean the tar drips off of concrete pavers?

  1. terpentine will break down the tar, but it will probably make a mess and stain your concrete. The only way to stop the dripping is to have the tar removed and seal the flashing line a different way. (Tough to suggest an alternative since there is no picture of the flashing condition) If you do not do anything, i.e. allow it to keep dripping (into a coffee can or whatever) then obviously you are losing waterproofing material on the roof and the leaks may eventually start.
