Does anyone know anything about this? Saturday night I awoke at around 4am to multiple gun shots (6-12) heard from Rockwell Place between Dekalb and Fulton. Between 10-20 Squad cars, unmarked police cars, and paddy wagons showed up in literally under a minute and swarmed a large group (over 10) of people headed south on Ashland but that’s all I know. This morning I went by and there’s blood spatter all over the sidewalk and one of the garage doors next to the bar.
Speaking of which, how does one get a bar shut down? This place is SHADY.
Wow, that sounds awful. Surprised you haven’t been able to pick up more information about it. Tumbleweeds have taken over some of these threads today it seems.
that place IS shady. i used to have a studio space down the block at 1 rockwell and had a few experiences with their patrons that were less than cordial.
the managers of my studio’s building had posted notices about who and how to call to complain about issues with that bar (really the only business on the block except for a dialysis center and the bcat studios).
I think the moderator deleted the bar name because the title may have suggested the shooting happened in the bar or that the bar was somehow involved which I’m sure it was not. To clarify, the shooting happened just outside 31 Rockwell’s Bar & Lounge. I mean maybe it happened inside – I don’t know, but the blood I saw is outside and the shots were very loud suggesting outside. I should also clarify this location is barely Fort Greene – on the MetroTech border. I seem to be the only person who is aware of it. Any DKLB BKLN residents out there? They must have had front row seats.
