Mt new homeowner’s insurance is asking me to fix a visible but shallow crack on one of the stairs on the stoop of my brownstone. Is there a cheap/easy way to fill in or patch this on my own? At this point, it doesn’t have to look perfect, just be done quickly. Also, if you know of anyone who might take on such a small job, any referrals are appreciated too.
TIA!
First use muriatic acid, or cement etching solution. That will burn away any microscopic biomatter that will cause it to crack at the seam. Then brush of some acrylic bonding agent to improove adheision and mortor it
If it’s small you can patch it with some latex patching cement and a small trowel in a few minutes.
