Mosquito Magnet - When to Start?

After reading lots of recommendations for the Mosquito Magnet on this forum last year, we decided to invest in one for this summer. I recall that it takes awhile to really do its job, but that the propane tank also needs to be replaced/re-filled every 3 weeks or so, which is a pain since I don’t have a car, so schlepping to Liberty Gas or Home Depot is kind of an ordeal.
So my question is: when should I start running this thing? I don’t think the mosquitoes usually get bad until about July, but I can’t really remember. Do I need to start running it now? A month from now?
I’d appreciate any input from folks that have used this contraption in the past. Thanks!

I just got one myself. I’ve been told that now is the time to start. Apparently, its very important to have an impact on the first few generations of mosquitos because once they multply they increase exponentially.

You can order propane just like pizza. The phone number is 718-788-4331, the price is $37.00 a tank. They deliver every day. Propane is probably cheaper at Home Depot but it saves the trip.
