Hi Everyone, My husband and I recently finished a near-gut reno of our 4-story brownstone and we would like to recommend our contractors. Sami & Mike of M&S Construction did a great job at a great price. They stuck around to finish up all the details at the end without any grief or prodding. Any extras we asked for were either not charged, or charged at a very reasonable price. In addition to replacing the mechanicals, kitchens and baths, much of our project was a restoration aimed to preserve and enhance whatever historic elements we had, including the plaster walls and ceilings. M&S worked with sensitivity to that end. Additionally, I’d like to recommend Khem Brady who did a phenomenal job of wood stripping/refinishing, and Kevin Perez and Jason Kuriloff who both did great plaster moulding and medallion restoration. All was done under the watchful eye of John Hathaway Architects. You may contact me at pddesign@sprintmail.com for more info.

I also got a chance to see the work and thought it came out beautiful
Sounds wonderful! Would love to see pictures as well. How long did it all take?
invisible, that’s pretty funny. This is our second reno together and this was a love-fest compared to our first one. I think we’re going to swear off big projects for awhile, and recapture the rest of our lives!
4 story gut reno and you’re still married, now that’s a ringing endorsement!
Thanks Dave!
I’ll post some photos soon. Maybe a mini reno-blog…
yes, please post photos
ahh yes, you used an architect, that is wonderful! better to do it right than doing it on the cheap. congratulations and you should post photos-before and after!
denton, they did a great job. This was a gut rehab where ALL of the woodwork was intact, stripped and finished. Some plasterwork was required and it turned out beautifully. The bathroom tiling was a really nice job.
nice to see a contractor rec from someone who’s not the contractor!
