I’ve seen a few old posts on the subject, but still have questions… do most people bring a contractor/architect/engineer with them? Any recommendations? (our inspector was great, but VERY expensive). There were a few places we couldn’t see (under carpeting, behind paneling, at the bottom of a dumb waiter shaft) and think it’d be worth it to be thorough. Any advice?
This is really to make sure that anything you agreed to after your contractor inspection has been taken care of and they haven’t left the place in worse shape as they moved out…and to confirm that they have moved out!!! You can address any non-working appliances that worked upon the previous inspection and any newly broken windows but you’re not going to get anywhere with what may have lay under carpets, wallhangings, etc if you didn’t inspect there previously.
