Hi there. Can anyone recommend someone to put window bars on the front of a limestone building? I’d like to get something that looks really nice…

thanks

  1. As one with decades-old bars on their building, not sure why you’d want to add them where they don’t already exist. If you live in a historic district, you won’t be able to install without LPC approval. In addition, many insurers are now objecting to these bars as fire code violations. Setting those issues aside, there are several foundries in Greenpoint and Long Island City that can cast custom work, and many Brooklyn ironworkers that have been casting and/or forging for generations.

  2. Arcady, actually i was referring to custom casting as in pouring iron from the furnace into a sand mold. Not custom “work” as in welding and bending bars. Does Ricardo have a furnace?

He will do as nice as you desire. Great guy.
Unsure if if he can do custom cast work though, if you’re looking to go that hi end route.
