Storing Bricks
Hi, I took apart a brick wall in basement and saved most of the bricks under the deck in backyard. Do I need to cover the bricks to protect them from rail?

Most supply yards have a high turnover rate which would limit the amount of time the unfinished material is exposed to the elements. Since these bricks were from a basement I’ll assume they are both old and common grade. These are more porous and subject to accelerated deterioration once exposed. If you intend to store them for any length of time it would be prudent to cover them particularly if they are in a position where they will get wet but ventilation and sunlight are restricted.

No, brickyards store them outside all the time. what you are probably thinking of is water getting into joints on finished brickwork and freezing which will not be a problem for a stack of bricks.
