Pet-Friendly Hotel in Brooklyn
Does anybody know of a hotel in Brooklyn that allows pets? Something close to Cobble Hill / Brooklyn Heights would be ideal.

Thanks for the excellent info, MGLT. I also used sidestep.com (love that site) and you can narrow down hotels by those that are pet friendly.
I had to research this a while back.
Hotels.com has a “pet-friendly” search option.
Also, this website has info on pet-friendly hotels. http://www.nyc.com/visitor_guide/petfriendly_new_york_hotels.703633/editorial_review.aspx
The big issue is that some hotels charge an extra pet fee which can be quite high, and some only take dogs and not cats. Before booking, call the hotel directly and find out their policy.
The other option would be AirBnB where people rent out apartments by the night. They have a find me a room in less than 24 hours option that actually works (used it once to get rid of a guest who overstayed his welcome). I think you send an email with your urgent request, so you can put in the information on the pets – number, size, type etc. and see if someone is willing to rent out their place.
Thanks bogana, I told my friends to try Nu Hotel. Seems ideal…hopefully they don’t have a size/number restriction on the dogs.
Thanks as well to you, Brownstonerlogin. It’s for tonight, so unless Aloft opens within the next few hours, that won’t be an option. But good to know for the future.
I researched some more and saw that a Comfort Inn and a couple of Holiday Inn Expresses, along with the downtown Marriott, all allow pets as well.
Yes, I’m also pretty certain the Nu Hotel on Smith allows pets. Although like most hotels, they may have a size limit. 🙁 Also, depending on how soon you need it, there’s a new Aloft Hotel opening in downtown Bklyn (Duffield St.) in July. They’re Starwood’s new “cheaper” brand, and they definitely allow pets although usually a 40-lb. limit.
We looked into this at one stage, and I seem to recall that the Nu Hotel on Smith and Atlantic allows pets.
