Insulating Pipes
I want to insulate cold and hot water (copper) pipes. I found recomendatons to use styrophoam insulation for this. But others saying that I need to cover cold pipe in rubber and hot water pipe in fiberglass. I never seen hot water pipe insulated with fiberglass. Please advice.

i used foam for hot and cold, it works fine for both. i assume your boiler, like mine, isnt going to produce water hot enough to melt it. the foam is the cheapest (99 cents or so from HD or hardware store). i think the fiberglass is the best in terms of efficiency but its expensive and gross
foam/rubber for water, fiberglas for steam.
fiberglass is for heating pipes.
