Additional Recommendations?
I have recently become the president of the board of my co-op, a 40 unit building. We have parapet problems that are causing leaks on the 4th floor. After searching this forum, I called Transcend, but that company is so busy that I am not even getting a call back to set up a visit….

Many thanks in advance.

Coopfornow and Denton’s advice is sound. You might also want to attend and talk to vendors at upcoming Co-op/Condo Expo, April 27: http://bit.ly/cMMsuM
I stand behind my recommendation of Wolf which handles both large commercial and small residential properties.
coopfornow pegs it, I would recommend Exponent or Wiss Janney Eltsner as engineers.
But if it’s simple and you think you have it pegged and want to go direct to a contractor, my rec would be Mike Brion at Basonas, 718-832-0283. Tell him I sent you. He did almost $1 million over three stages for me in a building your size.
Most of the guys that advertise on ‘stoner are too small for bigger buildings like yours. I’m sure now they will all berate me.
That is a project for an engineer, who will take a look, assess the place, and write up the specs for a bid. That is potentially important and pricey enough to get more than one source for an estimate, and estimates need to be based on the correct info.
Check out Rand engineering.
