Hi all,

Our building’s basement is leaking water through the back wall where the old coal chute used to be. Can anyone recommend someone to do the waterproofing? I’ve checked with a few masons/contactors and don’t have a lot of confidence in any of them yet.

Thanks!

  1. If the leak needs to be found, or if it’s coming through the cement or the cover or the casing but not the brick, I recommend Irving at 718-678-4986. He has been great with regrading the cement, re-doing the covers and bars for our cellar windows, finding leaks in the stone walls and roof, etc. Everything he has fixed has solved the problem and stayed fixed. He’s really good. We used to have a ton of water in our basement and now we don’t. Also, his prices are very reasonable. Probably charge you less than $200 for this. But he is not a mason, so if you need the brick repointed, hire a mason.
