Hi… some info needed here. A shed went up around our building for a facade renovation project. There are three young trees affected by it. The trunks have been bent out of the way of the shed, perhaps some 10-15 inches. The branches have been bent also. I would have imagined that a hole would have been cut to accommodate the tree to grow straight, should we be concerned? Also the support of the shed is resting on the trees very new roots.that is a lot of weight. Any tree knowledge out there?

  1. Not sure I understand the situation you describe, but isn’t your bigger concern that the trees are going to destroy the brand new shed? The trees should have been removed before construction.

  2. Speak with someone at your community board. Depending on answer, you might also follow up with Parks Dept. (responsible for street trees) and/or 311. Lots of info and sublinks for street tree care and Greenstreets program available here: http://bit.ly/9V0E7U
