Starting stair tread
I need to replace a starting stair tread 11 1/2″ x 30″. Dykes priced one at $130 for me, but then found they could only obtain a 48″ tread at $270. Any ideas where I might look?

what is this made out of at those prices? I replace these all the time and cannot imagine what the wood is – though I have seen cherry used on some lower stair treads in some b-stones. Let me know, maybe I can make it up. I have a hardwood supplier I used and have the equipment.
