I just helped a client rent a gorgeous two bedroom condo in Windsor Terrace from Ellen Whipple at Dwelling Real Estate. She was awesome, went to bat for my client with the board and definitely had the best apartments for rent and sale in the Kensington, Flatbush, Windsor Terrace area. She is kind of a character, in a great way.
Also if you’re interested, I have a 3 bedroom that i’m renting out in Windsor Terrace although it’s for an immediate move in so it may be a little early for you to start searching.

Real estate agents are far too lazy to do all that.
The good ones only sell properties that are easily marketed and the bad ones will waste your time and not get the place sold.
List your apartment yourself on the NY Times and Craigslist below market to encourage a bidding war. If you don’t get a bidding war, your asking price is too high.
Save the commission and when you’re finished with the move take a trip someplace warm. . . . Palm Springs comes to mind.
