I have 2 standard double hung windows which are hard to lock. They are fairly large and have 2 sash locks each. The only way to get them locked is to angle the bottom window in as if washing it, then seating the top window and after several tries getting the bottom window lined up so the sash locks align. Obviously a pain in the butt. Does anyone know if there is a simple way to remedy this?

  1. double check whether there’s weather-stripping on the bottom or top that’s making it harder to line up. Otherwise, depending on how the latches are configured you might be able to unscrew the upper latches and raise them a bit with washers so they seat higher. Easier to tell if you post a photo.
