We are installing a radiator in our kitchen under the countertop and inside a large kitchen cabinet. The screen will be screwed in from behind the cabinet opening. Only now did it dawn on us that we won’t have access to the valve. Any creative, easy-to-implement solutions for providing some access to the radiator? We thought about putting a latch on the far end, but the valve is unfortunately on the inner side.

  1. you could attach the screen with heavy-duty velcro or another fastener that wouldnt be visible but would allow you to get in there if you need to. I’m thinking it would be attached to the part of the screenthat would overlap the wood frame on the inside. I’m assuming you would only need to access the valve once every couple years.

  2. Have a cabinet door made for the opening that has metal radiator-grill type material edged by wood. Then stain to match your cabinets. Most places that make custom radiator covers can do this.
