my husband and i are living in a semi unfinished apartment. we had to gut the place and have been working in stages due to budget issues.. as a result we have a 10inch gap in our living room ceiling (my contractor removed a wall there) long story short, we were getting ready for work one morning and 2 aggressive birds (starlings i think) flew in through the ceiling and after a lot of screaming they flew right back up into the ceiling.. SOOOO i had to temporarily seal up the gap but i have no idea how to solve the issue. my crawl space is frighting, ceiling may not support even the skinniest of us and i cant for the life of me figure out where they are getting in or out.. obviously the hole needs to be identified first and sealed once we make sure all the birds are out. OH BOY.. do i need a profession of some kind?? roofer? does anyone have any suggestions? HELP I CAN STILL HEAR THEM IN THERE!!!
Try calling the local vet. They may be able to suggest someone that can trap and release them. How did they get in there? Is there a hole to the exterior in there somewhere?
well it’s a small 2 family brick.
i have no desire to kill the starlings.. i’d like to think they are aggressive because they are scared and i 2 am an immigrant.
strobe light.. good idea, i’ll try that.
Put out a bird feeder.
strobe light will solve your problem. leave it up there for a week or two.
No cmu, some of my best friends are aggressive non-natives.
A little history however:

The same could be said for me as an immigrant, and I’d hate to think I incurred your fatal wrath, modsquad.
Don’t feel bad killing Starlings. They are an aggressive non-native and deserve to die.
This is in an apartment building? or an apartment in a brownstone?
