We just used steel wool and then repainted. We used some kind of electrostatic sign paint that adhered beautifully, no primer.
Just use Peel Away…found at any hardware store….as a matter of fact, union painters use this product to remove old paint…..(my friend is a union painter…lol)
We can reglaze your tub professionally, with some of the finest products in the industry! Last long time, and looks great. We provide warranty.

I’ve used Rock Miracle on cast tubs. It makes it quite easy. It is better if you pull the tub out from where it is and turn it over in the middle of the floor.

Any paint remover should work, as should a heat gun or one of those abrasive stripping tools that attach to an electric drill and look like a bunch of thick wires attached to a wheel. However, AFAIK the outside of old claw foot tubs was intended to be painted, so, if you have one of those, you might not like the look of the stripped surface.
