I’m desperate to find a solution to the sound problem we have between the garden and parlor floors in our 3-story brick. I’ve been told that blowing in acoustical foam is the best solution. The quote I got from my GC is way too high for me to even consider. Can anyone recommend someone that does this type of insulation? Thanks!

  1. not sure acoustical foam is going to work, and if acoustical foam is too expensive then i assume a dropped ceiling is too expensive as well

next step is carpeting, carpet is basically the cheapest, least invasive, most effective way to soundproof.

acoustical foam should help with airborne noise but there is a chance it won’t do much for footstep type noise so i would recommend doing some research to make sure it will do whatever your looking for before spending a large sum
