LARGE RADIATOR NOT HEATING UP
I just moved into a new house a few weeks ago. This radiator is in my daughter’s room. It doesnt heat up. The pipe is warm but only two of the 10-15 sections of the radiator get warm. the remainder is cold so theres not a lot of heat. We have already changed the valve…

We have already changed the valve and removed all the water from it. In addition, it was leveled so that it was sitting at a slight incline to prevent future water accumulation.
try cranking the other rad down to see if the chambers start to heat better on that one. question?? is that the size of all your rads, and is it the furthest away from the boiler….hows the boiler pressure at the boiler guage when the house is heated up
Do you control the boiler?
I would run the heat with the air vent removed. If nothing improves then the problem is somewhere else. Obviously if it heats up you need a vent with a bigger hole. Be prepared to turn the radiator off if the room starts to fill with steam.
What MP says, it is a lot of radiator for a typical bedroom.
You hear any banging?
The room is cold. thats the main issue.
First question is whether the room is warm enough. If it is, you don’t have a problem. If the house is heating evenly, you don’t have a problem, and you could probably swap out that radiator and replace it with a smaller one.
If the room is colder than the others, put a larger vent on the end and a smaller one on the end of the radiator in teh room with the thermostat. Also, make sure the valve at the base is all the way open.
what are chemtrails?
“#4.Check the boiler and make sure that the water-level in the boiler is not jumping up and down, which means that the PH balance of the boiler water is off”
Remedy: check for chemtrails in the backyard.
It is normal for some radiators not to heat all the way across except for on the coldest days of the year. Steam heating systems were often designed that way.
10-15 hot sections of a radiator that size is a lot of heat.
#1make sure you have the right air valve for the radiator location.#2 The steam lines in the basement should be insulated to allow more btu’s to travel to the radiator instead of heating the basement#3In the basement, there are air valves close to the end of the run(steam lines).Make sure the valves are there and replaced.#4.Check the boiler and make sure that the water-level in the boiler is not jumping up and down, which means that the PH balance of the boiler water is off.Remedy>Get a can of boiler treatment to put in.Follow the instructions.#5.Allow more time for the boiler to push steam, due to bad location of thermostat.#6.If all else fails ,call a professional.
