copper pipe insulation?
Where in Brooklyn can I get high R value pipe insulation that I can put on the copper pipe in my basement? Ideally I would like to get something that is quick to install (this has been on the to do list for too long). Thanks

PS- the brand name of what you are looking for(at least at Home Depot) is Thermwell.
The Home Depot on Hamilton Ave. carries the insulation that you are looking for (or at least they did about two weeks ago), which is basically a kraft paper/foil wrapper around a fiberglass core. It does have a higher R value, but I couldn’t tell you off hand how much higher.

Thanks DIBs. I did find this at HD. Problem is, it apparently doesn’t provide much insulation value. I am looking for something with an R value over 1. A plumber told me a while back that there exists something like the grey foam sleeve from HD that is white with yellow exterior (or visa versa) that provides good insulation but he couldn’t tell me where I could get it…
Not sure how many different types there are but the most common foam type that slides over the pipe is available at any home center store.
