I haven’t been able to respond to a question about a post I made regarding growing moss on brickwork, the forum is blocking my reply to the original post by msb277 on the 21st.

The easiest thing is to Google ‘Moss Buttermilk’ everyone’s recipe is slightly different. Some people like buttermilk, others like yogurt. I can’t imagine this working on a South facing façade – and your neighbors may start to seriously hate you after your spray this.

I’ve only tried this on field stone walls and I can’t vouch for its success on ‘shinny’ brick.

I don’t think the ‘science’ is in the recipe but more in how, where and when you apply it. I don’t think this would be a good project to start up in August 😉
