I am looking to do something unique with my backyard garden this Spring. I was wondering if there are particular a websites to get inspiration for urban gardens. Thank you for any info.

Gardenweb website! THE place to go for photos and advice from real people and there’s a NYC garden category there.
Get a vertical gardern. Very popular in France.

Go to bstoner.wpengine.com and search under Garden on the front page, not the Forum page. You’ll see lots of nice city gardens from posters.
Check out the This Old House website. I used their ideas for our front garden that has a bench and dry river bed. It actually came out pretty good. I get compliments all the time and my neighbors said that when they had guests over they asked them if our brownstone was for sale. They especially like the landscaping!!!
I’ve sung his praises before on Brownstoner, Brook Klausing does terrific work and there’s some great inspiration on his web-page too.

Check out the Monrovia.com website for inspiration.
The New York Times Gardens section online is a good resource it also has links to other web sources.
It’s almost time to work the soil, yesterday felt like Spring.
Per gem10, there’s a good, and intensive, class coming up at the BBG in March: “Your Garden Tutorial.” Also, might be worthwhile to visit the Philadelphia Flower Show (2/28-3/7): http://bit.ly/9cPe6j and/or to go on some of the local garden tours. Am sure I won’t be the only one to say
but definitley check out Brooklyn Botanical Gardens website – they have classes and workshops etc geared towards Brownstone gardens
also – just trolling the internet for ideas is a great and cheap start to get ideas
it really helps if you know your sunglight situation and if you know what kinda of soil you have
good luck – I had a garden in my house and I miss it dearly!
