I’m looking for modern, simple door levers for inside. Home Depot and Lowes have a terrible selection. Everything I find online is $80-$130 for a simple, modern, chrome lever. These things cannot be that expensive. My old apt had them; there were 10 doors and no way in hell my landlord payed $1000 for each apartments door levers.

Where in the city can you get some tasteful door hardware?

  1. Hi Eddie,
They are, sadly, that expensive. Simonz is kind of the go to place in the city. If nothing else, they have a great selection/showroom where you can find out what you want.
I recently replaced an Omnia lever twice in a month before giving up on the brand. The insides are plastic and kept getting broken/worn out by the three tiny fashionistas that used the office bathroom we installed it on.
I eventually replaced it with an Emtek model from http://www.spokane-hardware.com for $70 or so after s/h. I was really impressed by the hardware after the Omnia debacle. It’s less expensive and the whole mechanism is metal. I’d highly recommend them.

  2. It might help if you had the brand they were –

I had worked in a new construction that had some simple, modern brushed chrome levers. Considering that everything the builder installed was on the cheap, I thought the handlesets were cheap knockoffs. When I told my locksmith the name, he kind of dismissed them. This in mind, I thought I could help you find an inexpensive lever – Omina – that was the name. turns out they run $90-110 on Handlesets.com. Not so cheap.

Sorry I can’t be of help.
