Interior Design Help
I own a small apartment with a very narrow kitchen and living area and a very long hall, and I am looking for interior design help. I am also on a budget. I would appreciate some recommendations on an interior designer or interior design services.

I second the recommendation for apartmenttherapy.com. You can actually hire Maxwell, the author of the blog, to help you with your apartment interior design… at least you could in the olden days, as the blog sprang as an offshoot of his design consultancy.
Hi… Nice suggestions and tips for interior designs. While i was surfing for modern furniture for interior designs i found this site http://www.spacify.com/ an interesting one. It has a lot of latest interior decors and modern furniture. Just check it might be useful to you.
I recommend Alica Cannon – AJC design. Helped me renovate my condo while living there (kitchen gut, lighting, trim, paint) and 8 months pregnant. Worth every penny – Christa (crimonneau@gmail.com for questions)

leolani – everyone is on a budget. The best advice is to be sure about what you like and be realistic about what your budget can afford.
I always recommend cutting pictures you like from magazines like Elle Decor, Dwell, etc, to help articulate what you like and don’t like.
A good designer won’t mind working with a budget. They should even provide you with rough estimates (not that they will do the work, but if they can give you guestimates – it will help you understand where the money is going). If they can’t give you an estimate it means they are not working enough to generally understand what things cost (or care to understand what things cost).
A good designer will also help you get multiple bids from contractors with 100% complete construction documents so you won’t get hit with any change orders during your renovation. (but always allocate 5-10% of your budget as a contingency for unforeseen conditions).
Most people want their cake and to eat it too. When you are interviewing designers and they understand that you are realistic and have definitive ideas to guide the process, they will see that you are going to make the job easier.
I would always rather work with a nice client on a tight budget than a terrible client with an open budget.
Good Luck.
though this is more DIY, apartmenttherapy.com has a lot of great tips ESPECIALLY for design in small spaces. you may find it handy.
