We recently purchased an apartment with its own (fairly new) Burnham boiler for heat and hot water. The heat is fine but the hot water has an issue. Partway through a shower it gets cold then warm again. This problem is less when the heat is on and does not seem to occur when the dishwasher is running. Any ideas of what this could be before we call in a plumber? Is our tank too small? Thanks!

yeah i got the bosch 7.5 per min and save me half in gas bill for hot water and you can now save the boiler for heat.
even better , have your plumber install an indirect hot water tank rather than a heating coil..you will even get the green credit for it

Your coil is undersized. Have a plumber come and install a properly sized coil for your needs.
