mopar, tiling looks great. I know he is highly capable and he is the type of guy that if he is not sure if he can do the job to perfection, he’ll tell you and advice to hire someone else. Let’s talk at Bell House if I decide to show up. Feel free to email me BKJester3 AT aol.com if you want to chat.
Kensingtonian, how did the tile turn out? Also, do you think he could he do old-house stuff like install old doors, pocket doors, and make a new window sill that’s a fairly convincing match for the old one?
well my guy is more of a craftsman than a contractor but knows how to do anything from electrican to tiling. Done all of those things in my apartment. Works himself so I guess more of a very experienced handyman than a contractor.
I highly recommend the guys who did a number of carpentry projects in my house, including installing crown molding. Their names are Adam and Artur and they did a great job.
Isn’t a contractor overkill for such a small job? May as well skip the middle man and just hire a carpenter or crown molding installer? instead. But, I guess that’s the rub – it’s so hard to find “good” craftsman in this city that people have to go through an expensive contractor instead.
Not a hard job. I highly recommend my contractor Oleg 347-583-0523. He did crown moldings in my bathroom so if you decide to hire him and need to look at the quality of work, you are welcome to come over and take a look for yourself. My email is bkjester3 AT aol.com

Here is the recommendation, with pictures, that I posted regarding them: http://bstoner.wpengine.com/forum/archives/2009/10/excellent_carpe.php
I have pics of the crown molding that I can send you if you provide your e-mail.
Adam and Artur can be reached at (347) 439-7709. Tell them Maria from Greenpoint recommended them.
