I have a 2 family frame home in Greenpoint that I recently purchased. Currently it is being renovated as finances permit. I am interested in restoring my stoop/stairs , they are likely original , house was built in 1901. The stoop is made out of Blue stone/ Slate slabs. There is a fair amount of erosion on the stair treads and flaking of the stone. Is there a way to patch the stairs and seal the stone.

  2. Hi –
wish you got some responses on this one-
as I have what sounds like the same issue on my front steps – same age house. I know it can be fixed -I had asked a contractor once for estimate – I remember it seemed expensive (to me anyway) like $1500.. but then other jobs had higher priority and I didnt pursue it..
Let me know if you found out anything, maybe we can share info..
    Thnx !
