Can anyone recommend a source for 5 panel horizontal interior wood doors? They seem to be a special order and a lot more expensive.

  1. if you are painting them anyway, look into trustyle doors. we’ve been very happy with that choice. they are constructed like the real thing but made of high quality mdf. we saved a ton of cash.

  2. As of a few years ago Nord made a prehung 5 panel door that is similar to the original doors in my 100 year old house. I don’t know where the contractor got the door, but I’m certain it was a Brooklyn lumberyard, possibly Midwood lumber.

  3. I may go the reused route, but I think I would rather go for new if I can since I can get them pre-finished and pre-hung.

    Thanks for the feedback.

  4. I saw quite a few used door s like that at Recycling the Past in Barnegat NJ.

They don’t make’m like they used to, but don’t know if you were looking for arch recycle.
