Moving Companies in Brooklyn
Hi! I will be needing to hire a moving company for my upcoming move from Park Slope to Sunset Park. I will pack my own things and get my own boxes. Don’t have too many large or delicate items but I don’t want to move myself. Any recommendations or companies to avoid? Thanks.

We used All Star for our last move and were very happy with them.
Movers, Not Shakers usually gets a lot of recommendations on this forum but we couldn’t even get them to return our phone calls.
I’ve always used All Star and been happy with them.
westside movers in manhattan. used them twice there, and a friend just used them for a move in queens. we both had great experiences with them. reliable, fair priced. don’t forget the tip.
A+M moving service
used them three times, will use them again. (but not soon I hope!)

on time, fast, efficient, licensed and insured. And totally reasonable!
We were very happy with Santini.
We recently moved from the Slope to CH and used these guys.
I received quotes in the $2k+ range from (real?) moving companies, but these guys are straight hourly and came in at less than half the price of the real moving companies.
I requested 4 guys and the largest van they had.
The only problem we had was that the van they used wasn’t the largest so it took a few trips.
Make sure you ask them what the largest size van is and make sure they show up in it.
I would use them again.

I used Oz Moving recently and they did the job but I wasn’t thrilled with them.
This was the 3rd time I’ve used Oz, and they were great the first 2 times (thus the 3rd time), but I don’t think I’ll use them a 4th time.
On the good side: they got the job done, they were on time, and the final cost was very close to the estimate.
On the bad side: one of the 4 guys they sent was clearly too sick or hungover to be working that day and the other one hated his job and took every opportunity to make that clear. The crew leader seemed unable/unwilling to do anything about these 2 guys, so the move took about 25% longer than it needed too and I felt like I needed to monitor what was going on much more closely than I would have liked. I did not feel they were particularly careful with the furniture, and my desk and a chair were both damaged.
On the ugly side: the guy who hated his job was bitching, moaning, and grumbling the whole move, but when it started raining he took his complaining to a whole new level of annoying. Oh, and when a delivery truck couldn’t get down the street because of the double parked moving truck, he got into a fairly ugly and completely unnecessary profanity and racial slur laced argument with the driver of the delivery truck.
I think next time I’ll use a different moving company.
