If the wall is masonry I would recommend Triboro Waterproofing.
I have been a client for several years (6) now. They repointed the side of my home, installed new roof, rebuilt chimneys and parapet and built patio. They use all historic mortar for repairs and can restore cornices, brownstone etc.
THey also repaired a leak on the back wall that was hard to trace/find but they managed to find it. THey are out of Astoria and do most of their work in Manhattan but also work in Brooklyn.
Not familiar with NY Restoration. I have used Wolf Restorations (516-374-1294), and recommend them highly. Whoever you use, obtain at least three bids, make sure you have a detailed contract, that the work is warrantied, that the company is licensed and insured, and that you are named as additionally insured. Check with the BBB regarding complaints against the company, and view examples of their work in person. Some basic info about hiring a contractor: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/article/0,,199776,00.html http://www.oldhouseweb.com/how-to-advice/hiring-a-contractor/

Mahmood is the owner great person to deal with.
Excellent advice from Vinca. Also, they should itemize the cost of everything, include start and finish dates, etc.
