Anyone Used SpacePak for HVAC
Hello Brownstoners, I am interested if hearing from posters who have used or investigated SpacePak for their HVAC system. I have a semiattached brownstone and would love to get away from using the window units and just having a central air system installed without tearing the building apart. Thanks

Unico is the way to go. Nope, I’m not one of the owners.
We have had Unico for 20 years, and last year we upgraded to the new, high SEER condenser and heat pump air handler. We get heat from vents as long it is 45 or higher, a big plus as it comes so inexpensively (the heat).
Their stuff is a cut above other HVAC, just a little pricey up front.

I installed Space Pak in a three story townhouse I renovated and it worked well. Especially if it’s a more modern renovation, the vent holes blend in well with recessed lighting.
It made very little noise and seemed to produce even heat/AC as I recall. It also took up very little space and was easy for the HVAC guys to install.
I sold the house soon after it was renovated, and I haven’t heard any complaints from the buyers (which doesn’t really mean anything).
I can’t say too much about Space Pak, as they are a competitor, but I will tell you that the Unico System, a small duct high velocity central heating and cooling system is by far the dominant product in that product category. In fact, Unico System is the only heating and air conditioning system endorsed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
