Window We Are
Hi all, While I’m awaiting an estimate from Windows We Are, I’m wondering if anyone has negotiated their cost down, or is their price pretty much their price? Also, we’re probably going to do wood in the front (so they’ll be black on the outside and white on the inside) and vinyl in the back…
Hi all,
While I’m awaiting an estimate from Windows We Are, I’m wondering if anyone has negotiated their cost down, or is their price pretty much their price? Also, we’re probably going to do wood in the front (so they’ll be black on the outside and white on the inside) and vinyl in the back (for cost). Anyone have any other recommendations or tips that I should know about? Thanks!
They just came back with $620 each for aluminum (black outside, white inside) or $895 for pine (38 x 77 1/4) – Crystal CTD 2000A for the outside and $540 each for the white vinyl (38 x 76) Alside Sheffield. Seemed in line with what we were expecting.
8 windows for $5420. pine interior and vinyl exterior. i chose bronze color at no extra cost together with bronze hardware and almond jambliner. they are trimline DR200 windows. is price because they are not standard size – 82 being being the longest, 62 the shortest. they come with screens.
it just seems that 6K for 31 is complete deal!
Windows We Are installed Trim Line on our street side, and aluminum clad in the back. The crew was great.
Thanks again guys. Yeah, definitely doing the screens and the Argon double-paned. I’m only doing 6 windows so I’d rather pay up a bit to get it done right without going too crazy. Ringo, I’m on 3rd street so landmarked doesn’t apply, but WWA does carry landmark-approved.
Ringo,
WWA can do landmark windows. I’m not on a landmarked block so I didn’t concern myself with the minutia of landmark approval. They are wood, but not on a weighted chain system. They look original but I don’t know how crazy Landmarks would get if they weren’t on the weight/chain (and I know you can get new weight/chain windows if you want).
Call WWA and talk to them about Landmarks, I know they do them and they were very familiar with them (the installers even asked me why I went with wood on a non-landmarked block – I like the look)
Jesse,
Go with the LowE Argon and get the screens for the wood windows. The front windows look great, but a bit naked without the screens (and if I remember the screens are like $55 a piece give or take – not a lot in the grander context of 31 windows)
were the wood windows landmark approved? I need to get about 30 as well for our building
Thanks Christopher, that’s exactly what I wanted to know (it’s also kind of what I figured)! Bruce at WWA recommended wood for the front and vinyl in the rear as well, since it’d be cheaper but still look good. Thanks a bunch, I appreciate the feedback!
I just did exactly what you are talking about (installed 2 weeks ago).
We got 2 quotes and Windows We Are was the better price by about $6k.
We did 31 windows. 11 wood in the front the rest vinyl. It took them 2 days to install and the guys were great.
Everyone on our block commented on how good they look, how fast they were installed, etc. It cost a bundle but we were extremely impressed with the quality of the product, the work of the installers, etc.
I wouldn’t get to crazy on price haggling. Windows We Are will give you good windows and do a top notch install.
If you want, shoot me an email and I’ll give you my address if you want to walk by and check them out…
