Claw Foot Tub Overflow
We have an old claw foot we would like to re-install, but have been told by a plumber that the overflow and outflow plumbing is old and hard to purchase. If anyone is getting rid of an old claw foot tub, it would be great if we could purchase the old plumbing from you. Thanks.

You can really use any plumber for this. If they are old and have been in business for a long time in brownstone Brooklyn, so much the better. They’ll have seen it all a million times.
My plumber was able to find all the parts for our clawfoot tub’s drain system without leaving Brooklyn. It was 6 or 8 years ago, and I don’t remember where he went, but I think the larger commercial (to the trade) suppliers carry that stuff.
thanks everyone – it’s all a great help. brooklynstyle, which plumber did you use? Thanks, Matt.
I would start at Alfano Plumbing in Queens first, then try George Taylor if Alfano doesn’t have what you need.
I’ve used both. George Taylor had a new replacement faucet that was out of scale to my sink, so I returned it. Alfano had the original assembly — I didn’t need to replace the faucet at all. It’s also very inexpensive.
Also New York Replacement Parts — Lex btw 94/95. We’ve dealt with both George Taylor and New York Replacements. Either one can give you what you need. (And, as others have mentioned, so can a lot of other plumbing supply places). For fancy, high end plumbing fixtures, consultations and hand holding, George Taylor for sure. For hard-to-find and custom reproduced pre-war and older plumbing supplies- especially when you know what you need coming in the door (otherwise, send your plumber), we lean more towards New York Replacement Parts.
I’m not sure why you’re plumber told you that… there are tons of vintage plumbing supply places that sell stuff for old tubs. We just had our 1914 claw foot totally replumbed.
There are many places that sell these. Google clawfoot tub accessories drain or any combination of the above. You will find many.

They have the best customer service and will take the time to answer all questions.
Sign of the Crab, (sold by George Taylor in NY) is your best bet. Sunrise Specialties has some nice options, but their tub faucets are not up to NY code.
