Refs for Small Floor Job
I was stupid and have made about a 15′ superficial scratch in my apartments’ hallway while moving furniture. The scratch is quite visible, as it is light on a dark wood floor (not sure of the kind of wood), but it’s pretty shallow as you can’t feel it when you run your finger over it….

Any references from satisfied customers of wood repair contractors would be GREATLY appreciated. Need to repair my floor and my relationship with my roommate!
if that has not fully gone through, it will wear in to the point that you will not see it. If you do not want to wait for it to blend in and know what kind of poly is on the floor -you can lightly rub the scratch with a 220 paper, tack the dust off, and lightly rub (not brush) some of the same poly onto it. the repair may show but may also blend in time.
the other alternatives are, as someone suggested, to rub wax into it. or, have someone screen the floor and recoat. I doubt that is necessary though.
feel free to call me if you have any questions.

If you can’t feel it, it sounds like maybe only the polyurethane is scratched? Hard to tell but for any scratch that really does not seem to have dug into the wood grain, I usually use either a variety of wood wax products or get artistic with stain, a small brush and some new poly.
P.S. for the future invest in those little furniture pads they sell at every hardware store.
