Dining Table Finish Peeling
We have a really nice, good quality dining table from Pottery Barn that we bought a couple of years ago. It’s very sturdy and has held up great, but, the finish is slowly peeling and coming off. The people at Pottery Barn aren’t any help. Does anyone know how we should fix this? Any help…

Amazon.com has a 30-piece graduated Allen wrench set for 12.99. The size you need is probably one of those.
Speaking of Pottery Barn, I have a PB table whose legs have gotten loose, and I’ve misplaced the allen wrench that came with it. Haven’t been able to find the right size wrench at the hardware store, and PB doesn’t sell replacement wrenches. Any tips?
Probably Lacquer. Even if it is colored, it may be lacquer. Not as durable as polyurethane. You will want to know for certain what it is, but if it is lacquer, you can sand it to take the loose stuff off and take down the ridges on what remains and try a brush on lacquer. Be careful lacquer is highly flammable.

Apartmenttherapy.com is probably a better source for this type of advice. Would reference what type of finish though for better suggestions, if it is paint or some type of varnish etc. Would guess that stripping/sanding then refinishing might work though a lot of effort (the table was probably expensive?).
