I just had a new bathroom installed and there are riund stains around the faucets. The best guess is that it is from the plumber, maybe putty. Any ideas and solutions

  1. Try a mixture of peroside & baking soda – don’t have exact proportions but get the consistency of Elmer’s glue. Wipe it on, let sit for 15 minutes & wipe off. If you see a change, do it some more.

  2. Many plumbers learn the hard away you can’t use putty on marble. If that’s what was used to set your faucets, that what’s causing the stain. It can’t be saved.
I’ve heard of people trying baking soda and the like on the stain over the course of a few days to try to draw the oil out but it doesn’t do very much of anything.

You’ll wind up either getting used to the stain or replacing the slab.

  3. Marble stains. This is why I rant that it should never be used in the kitchen.

Might be due to the putty. I don’t know that there is anything you can do about it though.
